Welcome!
This is your source for talk and information on PanzerBlitz, Panzer Leader, and Arab-Israeli Wars. PanzerBlitz is the popular tactical wargame of WWII tank combat on the Eastern Front, by the Avalon Hill Gaming Company. The game is played at the division level using a simple system of movement and firing. The rules are easy and fast to learn. Two games followed using the same system: PanzerLeader, combat on the Western Front, and Arab-Israeli Wars, combat in the Middle East from the late 50's thru the 70's. Both follow-ups added rules to and modified the original PanzerBlitz system, adding realism and correcting some deficiencies.
Coming soon, we will be adding forums for other tank and conflict based games, including computer games. If there are games or areas you'd like to see covered, please drop me a line at ssbtdoom@gmail.com
Nifty little website
Posted by Jayers on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 (03:26:28) (50 reads)
I found a nice website when looking for some halftrack pictures. It's called the Antiaircraft Command. It's got some good info on AAA guns and weapons, plus some nice pictures of AAA guns on halftracks. There's also a lot of history on the AAA units themselves. Click over and browse their site.

Changes and Request (that' not a rule...yet)
Posted by Jayers on Saturday, November 22, 2008 (17:35:09) (143 reads)
Iam asking that everyone be civil when posting. You may not agree with someone's opinion and it is fine to argue, but not to the point of name calling. And you may not agree with the way that someone conducts their business: but it's not your business and you're not forced to buy anything, so please pass on commenting on prices, methods, advertising, etc... If you want to critque a product, good. Do so and be fair. But don't comment about how you don't like the prices or their operating model. And I'm talking about singling out individuals, either directly or indirectly.
People not involved in some of these conversations have complained and we need to bring this back to what it's supposed to be: Discussion about Ground Combat games, focusing on the PB/PL/AIW family and other games as well.
Also, I've instituted a new forum in the General section. It is called "Classifieds" and it is now the one stop shop for anyone offering anything for sale, looking for trades, or looking to buy. It is the only forum that these type of posts will be accepted. Please be considerate and post them only there, or I will move them, warn you, and if you continue, take further action.
Please also use the Announcements forum to announce updates to your websites where you have free-to-all material. If it's not free to all, use the Classifieds.

Website Updates Coming
Posted by Jayers on Thursday, September 11, 2008 (11:18:45) (176 reads)
The Panzer Games site will be undergoing some upgrades, enhancements and additions over the next couple of weeks. We're going to add some new forums, expanding the coverage to other games (don't worry, this site's main focus is still Panzerblitz, et al!), adding content and highlighting some of the best threads we gotten so far, and upgrading the look and feel.
So, loyal members, I'd like to make a couple of requests:
1)Volunteer to be an administrator of forums. I have emailed several of you so far, and I'd like to know if anyone else is interested.
2)Recommend new content and subjects for additional forum areas.
3)Tell me anything else you'd like to see here.
I hope that the site will be even better than it is now and spark new debates and discussions on an even wider range of topics, as well as provide you with better resources for your gaming.

How to change your password
Posted by Jayers on Thursday, April 19, 2007 (13:03:20) (476 reads)
I recently received an email from a member asking how to change your password. It's not as easy as I thought. It took me a minute to figure it out.
Here's what you do, from the main page: panzergames.info
Second box down on the left is called "User Info"
Second line down should be "My Account", click it.
Now you're in a page called "This is your personal page"
First box on left is called "My Account Tools"
Fifth line down, fourth link is called "My registration details", click it.
Now you're in a page called "My account>Registration information"
In the main window are lines for your current password and new password.
Make sure and click "Save Changes"

Thank You and Happy Holidays.
Posted by Jayers on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 (16:08:25) (594 reads)
I just would like to let you all know that while I wasn't paying attention the forum passed the 1000 post mark sometime last week. I was expecting to hit that around the first of the year, but we did it a month early. And I approved member numbers 94 and 95 today. So, we will have about 100 members and over 1000 posts by the new year. I'd like to thank all of the members here, the regular posters, the lurkers and the once-in-awhile drop-ins for a great start.
This forum has had way more traffic and discussion than I would have guessed when I put it up in June. I'd like to ask that you all take a moment and think what would you like to see, or what could be done to improve the website, and then drop me a line. I would like to do what I can to make this site even more useful for you, the Panzerblitz faithful.

The file library is now open.
Posted by Jayers on Friday, November 03, 2006 (03:25:10) (870 reads)
Due to popular demand, we're opening a forum exclusively for uploading of files, where you, loyal reader, can then download them. This is called the Library. Here' how this will work:
1. Go to the Library Forum
2. Start a new Topic
3. Type the name of the file is and which game it applies to in the title of the topic. If all, type - ALL.
4. Type a short description in the body of the topic.
5. Using the "Attachment" function load up your file.
Rules:
1. Keep it to PB, PL, and AIW relelvant material please.
2. One file per thread.
3. If the file is over 256k, or you get a "Can't Upload" message, contact me via PM. I'll give you temporary access to load larger files.
Please let me know how this works for you and if I can improve the system.

Attachments are now open!
Posted by Jayers on Saturday, October 21, 2006 (15:50:33) (650 reads)
Have you tried to attach a picture to your post yet? I have trying for the last 12 hours to get the size right, the space right, the admin rights right, and no luck. Every time I tried I got a Can't Upload File message. Well, I'm kind of a dummy. The folder on the server was not set to allow anybody to write to it unless they were logged in at the server! Oops. Fixed that.
You may now load pictures and attach them to your posts at will. Try to keep the file size below 75k, and Width down around 600 pixels. For a good tutorial on how to resize your pictures, go to this tutorial.
See ya!

Abandoned T-34 found in the bottom of a lake
Posted by Jayers on Wednesday, October 04, 2006 (00:33:19) (784 reads)
This is actually an old report, but I just found it. A T-34 that had been captured by the German Army in 1944 was sunk in a lake in Estonia. A man remembered seeing tracks going down to the lake with no return. Years later he told local historians about it and they went fishing.
See what they found.

Latest News

You may have noticed that the look of the site changed around a bit today. I finally got around to scanning in some art for the news topics and also configured the right side frame. This paves the way for the files sections I will be setting up in the near future. This will include rules variations, new situations and new counters. Some will be transplants from the old PB site, but I already have new rule variations from Dennis. I'm hoping more will be coming soon. This should be ready in the next week or so.
I would also like to point out the two new discussion groups I set up this week: Upfront and Steel Panthers. A member asked for some Upfront discussion, and I had wanted to carve out an area for other games anyway, and I happen to play Steel Panthers a lot. I'm sure that many of you also play these games at one time or another.
And finally, Grognard(Dave) and I will be playing an AIW game next week. While I have played numerous PB and PL games, I haven't actually played and finished and AIW one. Well, now we will... and we're going to record and photograph each move and post as an AAR(After Action Report) here in the AIW forum. This will just be kind of fun to do; if you're new and inexperienced you can watch a game unfold, you can kibbitz our strategy, and you can also help point out our game play mistakes (I don't claim to be an expert and any pointers on mechanics are welcome). So keep an eye out for that.
I've got lots of other plans as well for the near future, including a much need Dragonfly format customization, so stay tuned!

We have a new forum
If you go to the forums page, you'll see that I have opened a new forum for people seeking opponents. Post here if you're looking for a game, FTF, online, email, doesn't matter. Also, post here if you're wanting to organize a ladder or online tournament.
If you want to organize a FtF tournament, I suggest you post to the Conventions forum.
